The third concert of our Listening Sessions season showcases a long-awaited reunion between Austin-based violinist Omar Phoenix and cellist Jen Mulhern (Jenuine Cello). The two musicians originally met during their college years and went on to perform in numerous bands and projects together over the decades. This electric performance will feature a variety of non-classical duets for violin and cello that highlight Omar’s explosive technique on the electric violin, combining elements of Latin-jazz and Middle-Eastern flair. Concert-goers can expect to hear original music influenced by a diverse spectrum of genres, as well as song-choices that feature vocal performances by both musicians.
